My beautiful wife grew up in the mid-west and I grew up in the northeast so we both have experienced that first snowfall. In my opinion when the cold snap starts and the flurries fall for the first time, you know it won't be long till the waterways freeze over and the winter season has begun and that this is really a special time of the year. The question then becomes when do you venture out onto the ice? Do you try it on that first morning that you discover the ice-covered water or do you wait for a couple days or even a couple weeks? Yes i have gotten my feet wet more then once and yes life is indeed GREAT.
