One cold evening in December my daughter called me outside too see this beautiful ring that had formed around the moon. Now having grown up in Northeastern Pa. I had seen this sight many times (for those of you who don't know what this is, the ring forms from the light of the moon reflecting off ice crystal high up in the atmosphere ) however being somewhat quick witted and in need of a good laugh, I looked my 33 year old daughter dead in the eye and proceeded to explain that this happens once a year because Santa Claus has to use the stars and the ring around the moon like a bullseye to plot his course for traveling on Christmas eve. For a brief moment she actually bought it. Oh what a night. Yep life is still great.
